Bentonite Clay - Bentonite clay comes from naturally occurring volcanic ash sediments here in the United States.  This line of bentonite clay by Mountain Rose Herbs is a USP grade “sodium bentonite,” which is quarry collected from naturally occurring deposits and is untreated. Bentonite clay is sedimentary clay composed of weathered and aged volcanic ash. Our bentonite is NSF certified and manufactured to ANSI/NSF 60 standards. Bentonite is usually collected from deposits that can range anywhere from 100 feet to several thousand feet. After being gathered from the earth, it is brought out into the sun to remove excess moisture and make it easier to work with. After the initial drying it gets processed (ground) with huge hydraulic crushers, and it then goes through the final process of micronization, or “fine granulating.” People have used bentonite clay to remove impurities on the skin, such as oils, and toxins from the body for thousands of years.  Bentonite clay may have the power to adsorb oils and bacteria which makes it a perfect ingredient in deodorant!  
 
Organic Arrowroot Powder - Our organic arrowroot powder is a natural powdered root starch that is white in color and very lightweight. It is derived from the tropical South American plant Maranta arundinacea. This starchy root was a staple in the diet of the Arawak people, and they called it 'aru-ruta' which led to the name arrowroot as we know it.  Arrowroot powder helps to absorb moisture and is much more soothing than baking soda.

Eucalyptus - Eucalyptus essential oil has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It prevents odors, heals wounds, and prevents infections, leaving your  skin odor-less and protected!
 
Bergamot - Bergamot essential oil kills body odor. It has disinfectant properties that stop the growth of odor-causing bacteria, and it has a delicate yet powerful fragrance that eliminates odors.
 
Lavender - Lavender oil has antiseptic, anti-fungal and regenerative properties.
